Birdy day - Jan 27

The day started off with about 50 pinyon jays, ~20 magpies, ~15  flickers, and a redtail. It got colder throughout the day and in the evening I saw a small flock of bushtits, and a pair of long-billed thrashers. The thin crescent of a new moon appeared after sunset.

I was really surprised to find otter tracks on the Rio Grande at

Buckman/Caja del Rio west of Santa Fe, but there they were, and it looked to me like it might be 3 otters. Its 40 miles as the crow flies from their release site in Taos.
