2 Canada goose goslings caught in fish line
When I got up in the morning I saw a family of Canada geese on the bank of the pond at the rest stop. I took a couple photos then noticed some strange movements in the weeds near the geese.
I went over & found 2 downy goslings struggling to get away. Their legs were entangled in discarded fishing line. Luckily I had my small Chinese scissors handy and was able to liberate them. They swam out and immediately joined their siblings and the 2 adults.

Spiny softshell turtle, Canadian River 4/20
I'd forgotton how smelly some turtle's excretions can be! The Spiny's shell is much smoother than the Smooth's shell (except for the spines on the front edge of the carapace).
